I had arranged via internet a kind of a solo trekking venture. Himal and his team turned out to be a very good choice for my undertaking. My trekking companion unfortunately turned out not to be able to cope with our somewhat demanding trail. But then I had Bir Bahadur Gurung (age:53, but very dynamic) as guide. Him did I entrust my trekking slow companion, and did my very own trek. Bir is very mature and responsible person, so I never had to worry about my companion. I would recommend Bir Bahadur Gurung to everybody wishing to have a guide with a serious and mature perspective on life. (there are several B.B.Gurungs on the internet-do contact "my" Bir through Himal!!!) Well, thanks for the support Himal... Hope to return sometime, this time for the Annapurna trek..

Thank you very Much for a brilliant Holiday!
Despite Trekking in the Off-season we had an Amazing time. The weather 2as so much better than we thought and the Route Less full than it must be at other times. Our guide SIMBIR and porter LAL were extremely flexible and adapted to our pace and plans along the way.
The Hotel in Kathmandu + Pokhara were really good, central but quite the Teahouse during the trek were also well chosen.
Thank you so much again S+L for this fantastic time in Nepal. Hope to see you very soon again!!! On our Next trek,

Hello readers, my name are Thony from Indonesia. Me and my friend did Annapurna Circuit,Thorong La Pass with Himal as a Guide and Simon a.k.a Buddha as our Porter. They come from an ordinary Nepali Family who is very down to earth, honest and working hard to support their family. We did this trek on June. Even though it was Monsoon, we really enjoyed our trek that time. Himal and Buddha are so friendly. They make this trek full of laugh. Himal know how to take care of us, arrange everything so well give advice and explain everything we want to know. He also knows the trek and speaks English very well. Meanwhile, Buddha is very strong. He can carry out our Big Backpacks for 10 days and we still can't catch him during the trek. Himal offered us a competitive price for this trek. And it's worth it. Someday if i have a chance to come back, i will definitely use their service again. I miss them very much.

Hi all, I used Himal Ghale\'s services last April, I contacted him through e-mail and later we used Facebook to communicate to each other. I booked Annapurna Base Camp trek with him and had a great time with the guide (his younger brother) and porter he arranged for us. He and his brother speaks English fluently, we didn't have problem to communicate with them, they are an easy going person, and really know knowledgeable. Along the trek we changed the itinerary many times, but our guide and porter are very flexible with our plan :) The service offered by him definitely worth the price. I definitely will recommend him to my friends and will contact him again whenever I have chance to go back to Nepal.

To all visitors to beautiful Nepal! We are a family of five, and did in March 2010 a three week trip to Nepal with Himal ghale as our guide. We found Nepal amazing in two main aspects: of course the Himalayas are breathtaking and worth themselves only the trip to Nepal; but we also loved very much our encounters with local people and understanding of the local customs and culture, all facilitated by Himal. Our cultural experiences during our visit fascinated all of us (kids included), and were really a great and unexpected addition to our trip.
We believe we were able to enjoy such a rich Nepalese cultural experience thanks to our guide. Himal speaks great English, and also has a lot of knowledge of the mountains and the people living in them, including many aspects of their culture. He likes to share his knowledge and was always ready to answer our endless questions. Being with kids (three boys, ages 13, 11, and 6), we did less walking per day as what typical tourists do. Therefore we arrived to guest houses early in the afternoon, which left us time to be guided by Himal to visits of the villages we stopped in (we flew to Jomsom, walked to Marpha, then took a jeep to Tatopani, climbed to Poon-hill, and walked down the other side to take the bus back to Pokhara – 6 days). We strongly recommend this slower pace as it enables the visitor to see more of the local ways of life, giving an additional dimension to the trek.
Himal also was very sensitive to our family needs: he has a great ability to feel when to leave us alone as a family, and when to be more involved and help, explain, translate with locals, show and excite. He always knew well how to manage our expectations, and was very sensitive to our special needs. His sensitivity and knowledge sharing capabilities made us experience Nepal in many more ways than what we typically saw and heard from other tourists. We would very strongly recommend you to travel with Himal and trust you will have a wonderful and rich experience!
Other places we visited: it is also worth mentioning our visit to the Chitwan National park, which our kids and us absolutely loved! We saw a lot of wildlife on the river and in the park (tiger droppings, five rhinos from close range, 2 crocodiles meters from us, an amazing number of birds and deers), and had a great elephant experience. The guide in our lodge was really professional, and this made also a large contribution to our pleasure there (although accommodations in and around Chitwan are really basic). Regarding Kathmandu, our opinion is to stay there only when necessary as it has become an extremely crowded town, with huge traffic jams, and a lot of noise.

February 2009,
Himal guided me on a ten-day trek in the Everest region. My personal objective was to spend time in Sherpa villages and to see Tengboche and Pangboche gompas. My expectations were easily surpassed with Himal as my guide. His friendly manner enhanced my interactions with local people wherever we trekked. We traveled at the pace I liked, and the trek turned out to be easier than I anticipated. Since I planned to travel, alone I emailed him often before the trek. With his support and knowledge, I was able to feel well prepared for my first trip to Nepal.

Dear Himal
My pictures are ready and I made a best of selection for you to remember us 7 from Germany.
One part of me still is on the way through the beautiful mountain area with you. I enjoyed every moment of our Everest Trekking Tour. You were the best guidance, care and friendship. And for having so much fun together.
You are a good singer. I heard you on Youtube (Tom told us the link) on the tape you gave us. I made some pictures for Janga, Ram & Kumar. Perhaps you have the opportunity for giving the envelopes to them.
Have a good time with the Pictures.
All my best wishes & many greetings from Germany
Katrin

I was doing with Himal the Annapurna circuit trek from Bulbule to Jomsom. It was a really nice experience. Himal has a lot of experience with visitors but at the same time gives a very valuable insight into the Nepali life and culture. We had a very nice time together. It was so easy to get along with Himal, having interesting conversation when trekking through amazingly nice regions of the Himalaya. At the same time we could get extremely inspired by the astonishing surrounding himalaya.
Thank you Himal for this time.Martin

I am Iva from Slovenia, when my trip was in the planning stage I had to look for a Guide/Porter and looked thru the Internet for a tour agency. As soon as I saw Himals website I felt I found my team. There was something very appealing in the way who visit Nepal with him write very first-class and himself and I 'm so glad I decided to go with him. Since he also writes and speaks very good English, it made it very easy to communicate and plan the trip. I did the Helambu / Nagarkot trekking monsoon time. I can only very highly recommend him and should I am ever being so lucky again to visit Nepal, it will be with him.
