THE ACCOMMODATIONS IN GHOREPANI
Accommodation is offered in comfortable lodges run by local families. Each lodge has a communal area with a large stove that provides warmth and a cozy atmosphere. The bedrooms are generally unheated and feature two beds with mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Sleeping bags are required – Since the trek is not particularly long, 4 seasons’ clothing should be sufficient, and we recommend bringing a pillowcase.
Most lodges have gas-powered showers and flush toilets in Ghorepani and Ghandruk (some lodges also have squat toilets). The food in the lodges is of excellent quality, a mix of Nepali and western dishes. You’ll find everything from fresh pastries to beer and soft drinks in the lodges and shops. In addition, there are many shops selling drinks and snacks, sweets and chocolate. Kathmandu is also a convenient place to buy gear for a reasonable price.
POON HILL GHOREPANI TREKKING PACKING LIST
The Ghorepani trek requires trekking clothes and warm layers, a three-season sleeping bag, and lightweight trekking boots with sufficient ankle support. Slippery surfaces will be prevented by this. Boots that are heavier will be hot and cumbersome. It is essential to avoid stepping over your ankles while wearing cross-trainers. Walking poles and comfortable socks for the descents, as well as hats and gloves. Rainy weather calls for a waterproof jacket and umbrella.
