Since the terrain can be hard and the days long, hikers on these treks should be in good physical condition and have some previous mountain walking experience. Steep climbing may be involved, although it is never necessary to use ropes. Treks at this level can he arranged for periods of 16 to 21 days. Typically, a gradual ascent through a green river valley will lead you up to a number of high passes, where you will reach the altitude of 5416m. In fact, just above Lawudo is a large cliff known as the Dragkarma, or White Cliff, which is said to be the actual entrance to one of the secret valleys of Khumbu. To visit Lawudo Gompa hiking/ Trekking requires 10 to 12 days flying from Kathmandu to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 01: Fly to Lukla early in the morning (2827 meters. 35 minutes) and trek to Phakding (2640 meters. 3 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters.6/7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 03: Rest day in the same place for acclimatization.
  • Day 04: Trek to Lawudo Gompa (3455 meters. 4 hours of walking stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 05: Trek to Khumjung Sherpa Village (3780 meters. 6 hours of walking stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 06: Trek to Tengboche (3867 meters. 5 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 07: Trek to Namche (3440 meters. 4/5 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 08: Trek down to Manjo 2840 M (6 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
