Covering 132 kilometers in 6-7 hours by bus or shared jeep, the journey follows a panoramic, newly rugged road through Middle Hills, Tirsuli, Kalikasthan, Ramche, and Dhunche. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, the expedition proceeds with a trek through Langtang village, Kyanjin Gompa, and Tserko Ri, ultimately culminating at the Gangchempo base camp, where a 6 to 7-day ascent to the summit commences. Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The road follows winding mountain highways with views of terraced hills, rivers, and traditional villages.
Overnight: Tea house in Syabrubesi
The trail follows the Langtang Khola, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. You may spot monkeys and colorful birds along the way.
The valley gradually opens up as you pass Ghodatabela and continue through yak pastures and small settlements. The trail offers impressive views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks.
A short and scenic walk leads to Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual heart of the Langtang Valley. After lunch, you can explore the monastery and visit the local cheese factory.
Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring the surrounding area. Optional hikes include Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) or Tserko Ri (4,984 m) for spectacular panoramic views.
Leave the main trekking route and follow a rugged trail to Gangchenpo Base Camp. The route crosses glacial moraines and alpine terrain with dramatic mountain scenery.
Rest and acclimatize at base camp. Your climbing guide will provide instruction on rope techniques, ice axe use, and crampon skills.
Overnight: Tented camp
A second acclimatization day allows for further training and preparation for the summit attempt.
These days are reserved for establishing higher camps, acclimatization rotations, and the summit attempt. The climbing schedule is flexible and depends on weather, route conditions, and the team's progress.
