Since the terrain can be hard and the days long, hikers on these treks should be in good physical condition and have some previous mountain walking experience. Steep climbing may be involved, although it is never necessary to use ropes. Treks at this level can he arranged for periods of 16 to 21 days. Typically, a gradual ascent through a green river valley will lead you up to a number of high passes, where you will reach the altitude of 5416m. Often times, you will get a close insight into the Tibetan culture. Participants should expect to trek above 5416m/17872ft.

3 Pass

3 pass trek is one of the most amazing alpine treks in Nepal that passes through a remote region and snakes through varied landscapes, the 3 pass is no doubt a serious quest amid the barren beauty, It is one of the moderate to difficult treks in the Everest region that requires a lot of stamina, technical skills and strength.

3 pass With steep and craggy cliffs, deep gorges and pinpricks of dust all throughout the trail, the journey takes a beetling shape at a certain elevation when it embarks upon to cross some high altitude mountain passes and deadly moraines. Renjola top 5435 meters, Chola Pass 5320 meters and Kongma-La 5535 meters, offers a panoramic view of the beautiful Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Ama Dablam and many white peaks of Everest resign, which is one of the major attractions on the trek. Further, the 3 pass cuts across several remote Sherpa villages where you can dig into the bright culture of the Tibetans.

3 pass also passes through the Sagarmatha national park, which is a home to several endangered animals and you may often encounter species like the Himalayan Thar, languor monkey and musk deer. If you are lucky enough then a snow leopard and ibex might just appear in front of you out of nowhere and make your day. The tree passes Trekking starts from Lukla which is a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu. Thereafter an easy trek of 4 – 5 hours leads to Phagding, Thereafter Namche, Thamel, Lungdeng, Gokyo, Thangnak, Zhong la, Lobuche, Gorakshep, Dingboche, Tengboche, Namche and Lukla.

Equipment for 3 pass Trek

Recheck your Equipment after planning to three Pass Trek. Make sure you have enough gear to be warm and comfortable but without overloading. Usually you will experience warm days and cold nights depending on altitude and the time of year, For footwear, best walking boots with suitable ankle support that have been worn-in prior to the trek, and which are waterproof, warm socks, Gaiters for winter season, loose casual trousers, Thermal Leggings, Long skirt for women, trousers, and Waterproof trousers. For body Selection of T-shirts, and long sleeved shirts, preferably not cotton, Thermal shirt, warm shirt, possibly Fleece, Fleece jacket or warm wool jumper. Windproof, waterproof outer higher altitudes, Down jacket (optional for cold nights & mornings; can be hired in Kathmandu cheaply) and for head and hand, Wool or fleece hat, or balaclava. Hat or cap for sun protection while trekking, Sunglasses or goggles, Warm gloves, sun cream.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrive international airport in Kathmandu meet me in airport and transport to selected hotel at Thamel, Hotel Moon Light, the hotel is centrally located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs etc which is the centre for the tourists.
  • Day 02: Full day Kathmandu Valley world heritage site sightseeing durbar squire, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath, Patan, Bhaktapur and Buddhanath sightseeing with professional Tour Guide/car/ Van depend on group size.
  • Day 03: Fly to Lukla Hillary airport early morning (2800 meters. 35 minutes) and trek to Phakding (2640mtr. 3 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge. At evening village tour for while,
  • Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters. 6/7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 05: Rest day in the same place for acclimatisation visit Sherpa museum and Everest view Lodge for panoramic Himalayan view,
  • Day 06: Trek to Thame ((3800m) 4 hours walking, overnight at lodge, this village is well known by all Everest climbers,
  • Day 07: Trek to Lungdeng (4600m) 5/6 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4760 meters.) via Renjo Pass (5435) 6 hours walking) stay overnight at Gokyo.
  • Day 09: Visit Gokyo Peak (5560 meters.) in the morning (4 ½ hours walking) for sunrise view and all mountain views, from here we able to see 4 Mountain are more than eight thousand meters high, back to Gokyo stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 10: Trek to Tang NAK 5 hours walk, overnight at lodge, ( if you have extra days then can stay one more night in Gokyo and visit 5th Lake for more magic mountain views)
  • Day 11: Trek to Zhong la via Chola Pass (5320 meters.6/7 hours walking) today path are narrow and tiny ascending to the top of Cho La, stay overnight at lodge
  • Day 12: Trek to Lobuche (4930 meters.. 4 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 13: Trek to Gorakshep 3 hour walking, the same day visit to Everest base camp and back to Gorakshep, overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 14: Visit Kalapattar (5545 meters. Early in the morning for the best Everest view) trek back to Lobuche (5 hours walking stay Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 15: Cross to Kongma-La (5535m) 7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge in Ding boche.
  • Day 16: Trek back to Tyangboche(3 860m) 5 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 17: Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters.mtr. 6/7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 18: Trek back to Lukla (7/8 hours walking) and overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning around 07:00 AM (35 minutes) Overnight at same hotel.
  • Day 20: Departure Day in your home country. We provide you transport to international Tribhuvan airports.
