Since the terrain can be hard and the days long, hikers on these treks should be in good physical condition and have some previous mountain walking experience. Steep climbing may be involved, although it is never necessary to use ropes. Treks at this level can he arranged for periods of 16 to 21 days. Typically, a gradual ascent through a green river valley will lead you up to a number of high passes, where you will reach the altitude of 5416m. Often times, you will get a close insight into the Tibetan culture. Participants should expect to trek above 5416m/17872ft.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek with kids

Trekking for a family with 6 to 10 years toddlers, Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is a most likely popular trek in Nepal easy hike and different interesting activities of every single day. The diverse landscapes and Thakali cultures heritage to be found along the trek route give a marvellous approaching into the way of life of rural Thakali people culture. The route to Jomsom up the Kali Gandaki River passes through a gap in the Himalayan barrier in the bottom of the deepest river canyon in the world.

The valley of the Kali Gandaki River that runs between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountain with is more advantageous for kids, It offers good views of the mountains with spectacular and varied scenery on the way Ghorepani, Tatopani and Ghasa. The abrupt variation in altitude found here is astonishing. Normally trekkers continue on above Jomsom to Muktinath, the famous pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus. The people of this part of Nepal are a mixture of Gurung, Magar, Thakali and Chhantel, in the lower stretches of the Kali Gandaki, Thakali people around Jomsom and people around Muktinath obvious Tibetan roots, the Lob around Muktinath. Their customs and dress are all quite distinct than Nepali, and this trek gives a chance to see those differences dresses, culture than native Nepali, There are few option to shorten or extended your Family trek according to your time and kids interest.

The easiest of the tips mentioned here, it does not rise above 3940m. Muktinath is very famous for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrim, each year more than 1500, fifteen thousand number pilgrims visit here from Nepal, India and Tibet, Kagbeni is also very interesting site for kids to explore and spend a night before the Muktinath, this village is we call lower Mustang the doorway of Upper Mustang trekking, building is similar to Upper Mustang, people wearing dresses are same and same language they speak.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrive international airport in Kathmandu transport to selected hotel at Thamel, The hotel is centrally located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs etc which cater for the tourists.
  • Day 02: Kathmandu Valley world heritage site full day sightseeing with professional tour guide + car.
  • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara by tourist Bus at 7:00 AM (200 km. 6/7 hours driving) and stay overnight at selected hotel nearby lakeside.
  • Day 04: Take breakfast in the morning and drive to Nayapul by local bus (2 hours driving) trek to Tirkhedhunga (1520 meters. 3 ½ hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2853 meters. 7/8 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 06: Visit Poon Hill early in the morning (3210 meters. 45 minutes walking) for the best sunrise view and the magnificent Annapurna ranges the Himalayas, back to Ghorepani. Take breakfast and trek to Tatopani (1120 meters.7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 07: Trek to Ghasa(2450 meters. 5/6 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 08: Trek to Tukuche (2732 meters. 6 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 09: Trek to Jomsom (3 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 10: Trek to Kagbeni (2980 meters. 3 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 11: Trek to Muktinath (3940 meters. 4 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 12: Trek down to Jomsom (2728 meters.5 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
  • Day 13: Fly back to Pokhara (25 minutes flight) and stay overnight at selected hotel nearby lake, Rest of the day individual activities.
  • Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus at 07:30 AM (200 km. 6/7 hours driving) and stay overnight at selected hotel in Kathmandu
  • Day 15: Departure to International Airport to fly your home country. We will provide you transport to international Tribhuvan airports

Note: trip cost for kids 7 - 8 - 9-year-olds 10% discount, 4 - 5 - 6-year-olds kids 20% discount, below 4-year kids is a complimentary trip, but, extra cost for an extra porter to carry him or her.
