Since the terrain can be hard and the days long, hikers on these treks should be in good physical condition and have some previous mountain walking experience. Steep climbing may be involved, although it is never necessary to use ropes. Treks at this level can he arranged for periods of 16 to 21 days. Typically, a gradual ascent through a green river valley will lead you up to a number of high passes, where you will reach the altitude of 5416m. Often times, you will get a close insight into the Tibetan culture. Participants should expect to trek above 5416m/17872ft.

Overview

Tilicho Pass Trek

Tilicho Pass Trek-Tilicho Mesokantola pass trekking is challenging trekking passes of Annapurna Region, Tilicho Lake is the highest and beautiful lake in the world, at 5200 meters height ice lake. Tilicho Lake lies on the north side of the Annapurna range, just below Tilicho Peak (7134 meters). Tilicho pass is an exciting and beautiful route and very technical, particularly the downhill section from the Meso Kanto La, and do not recommend it for beginners trekkers, but the views of peaks at over 8000 meters and a variety of landscapes, plants and wild animals, it is well worth the effort of Tilicho pass.

Trekking in Tilicho Pass through the village of Khangsar and reaching to Jomsom by passing the Mesokanto La with many beautiful pictures, diversity of landscape white mountains.

After reaching in Manang, first you have to go for about 3 hours to the wonderful village of Khangsar, a village still in the old Tibetan style. Continuing you will reach little yak herders Shelter. The yaks don’t like to stay below 3500 m and the summer pastures around Tilicho Lake are a fascinating lake. Shortly after the hut, the safe one climbs up for some hundred meters to the ridge, only to go down again 700 m to the lodge.

 Tilicho Lake will be the stormy and icy wind at -15°C, One has to climb up to 5400m to go north of a big wall. To cross Tilicho Pass is a full-scale alpine expedition and we need a tent, stove and food for 3 days camping crew with staff. This trekking itinerary start from drive to Besi Sahar, Bahundanda, Jagat, Dharapani, Chame (670m, Pisang 3200m, Manang 3540m, Khangsar 3734m, Tilicho Base Camp 4140m, Nama Phu 3510m via Meso Kanto La 5099m, Jomsom 2713m and fly back to Pokhara. or jeet to Chame and start Trek, ending in Jomsom and bus to Pokhara also available nowadays

Equipment for Tilicho pass

Recheck your Equipment after planning to Tilicho pass. Make sure you have enough gear to be warm and comfortable but without overloading. Usually, you will experience warm days and cold nights depending on altitude and the time of year,

For footwear, best walking boots with suitable ankle support that have been worn-in prior to the trek, and which are waterproof, warm socks, Gaiters for the winter season, loose casual trousers, Thermal Leggings, the Long skirt for women, trousers, and Waterproof Trousers.

For body Selection of T-shirts, and long sleeved shirts, preferably not cotton, Thermal shirt, warm shirt, possibly Fleece, Fleece jacket or warm wool jumper. Windproof, waterproof outer higher altitudes, Down jacket, sleeping bag (optional for cold nights & mornings, can be hired or buy in Kathmandu cheaply) and for head and hand, Wool or fleece hat, or balaclava. Hat or cap for sun protection while trekking, Sunglasses or goggles, Warm gloves, sun cream.

after the end of November -December Tilicho pass will be closed because of less tourist use this trails, at that time have to use alternative trekking trails itinerary.

  • Day 17: Tatopani Trek to Galeswor (1170m) 5/6 hours walking) overnight at the lodge.
  • Day 18: Galeswor Trek to Beni drive to Pokhara (820m) overnight at lodge.
  • Day 19: Rest day in Pokhara window shopping in the lakeside,
  • Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus 200 Kathmandu.
  • Day 21: Transport to departure International Airport,
