Peak Climbing In Nepal
Meals
Trekking is essentially day hiking and doesn't require any special training. However, good physical condition, a love of walking, and a desire to enjoy mountain views and village life are essential.
These treks are suitable for walkers looking for something more challenging and energetic. Hill-walking experience is desirable, with longer days and higher elevations.
Since the terrain can be hard and the days long, hikers should be in good physical condition and have previous mountain walking experience. High passes and extended trekking days may be involved.
This is challenging and technical trekking or climbing in Nepal. Participants should be physically fit, mentally prepared, and ready for off-the-beaten-trail routes, camping, or high passes.

Climbing Chulu Far East Peak offers a spectacular experience among the giants of the Annapurna region in the Himalayas. The region, rich in cultural heritage, attracting adventure seekers from around the globe. This majestic peak stands 6,059 meters above sea level, providing a moderate yet exhilarating climbing experience. Among Nepal’s many climbing opportunities, Chulu Far East Peak is a standout destination. This comprehensive 19-day itinerary guide will take you through the thrill and beauty of climbing Chulu Far East Peak.
Chulu Far East Peak is grouped as a group B peak on the Nepal Mountaineering Association’s list. It is the ideal choice for climbers at Chulu Peak who seek to extend their Himalayan climbing expertise while traversing the iconic Annapurna circuit trek. Among the three Chulu Peaks, the Far East Peak is the easiest to conquer. What truly makes this expedition memorable is the addition of the famous Thorang La pass, which adds a whole new dimension of adventure to the journey.
Our adventure starts with the classic Annapurna Circuit trail. As we set foot on this trail, we embark on a remarkable journey through the Marsyangdi Valley. This valley treats trekkers to a mesmerizing array of landscapes and cultures, providing a unique opportunity to discover the heart and soul of Nepal. Our journey takes us through picturesque villages such as Chamje, Jagat, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, and Ngawel. Among these, Ngawel village is situated as a haven of serenity and offers breathtaking views of Annapurna 3, Annapurna 4, Gangapurna, and Annapurna 1.
Upon reaching Pisang, we move away from the main path of the circuit, setting our sights on the Chulu Far East Peak. As we ascend, the landscape transforms, with towering glacial moraines giving rise to dramatic rock pillars. It is rugged terrain that established Chulu Peak base camp and high camp, crucial stepping stones on our journey to the summit.
To conquer Chulu Far East peak climbing, we rely on the expertise of our skilled Sherpas. They fix ropes on the steeper sections, ensuring our safety as we make our way to the summit top. While the climb is challenging, it offers a profound sense of achievement. As we approach the summit ridge, a small sac welcomes us, offering a moment of respite before the final push. The summit itself is a spectacle of exposure, and the view is akin to that of Chulu East Peak, a true reward for the intrepid climbers.
Standing atop Chulu Far East Peak, the breathtaking panorama unfolds before our eyes. The Himalayas stretch out in all their glory, showcasing peaks like Annapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Mustang Valley, and Dhaulagiri. The beauty of this moment is unparalleled, etching itself into the memory of every climber.
Having conquered the Chulu East peak, our journey continues as we descend back to Ngawal village and Manang. But the adventure is far from over, we now face the formidable challenge of crossing the Thorong La pass. This high mountain pass, at an elevation of 5416 meters, connects the Manang district with the Mustang district. The exhilaration of crossing this pass is a testament to the indomitable spirit of mountaineers.
Our path leads us to the sacred town of Muktinath in the Mustang district. This town is renowned as a pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Pilgrims from Nepal, India, and Tibet flock to Muktinath, seeking spiritual solace in the serene landscape. It’s a moment of cultural immersion, as we witness the profound devotion of the people in this sacred place.
As our climbing adventure reaches its conclusion, we find ourselves in Jomsom, a picturesque town in the Mustang district. The climax of this journey is a spectacular flight to Pokhara, nestled between the towering Dhaulagiri Himal, Annapurna, and Nilgiri Himal.
