Annapurna base camp trek with kids below 2 years is not recommended, because of the 4130m altitude. Kids are sorely rather than enjoying, of course, we provide additional porters and baskets to hold for them. Moreover, the other recommended trekking trails for families with kids are:
Drive: 200 km | 6–7 hours
Your family adventure begins with a comfortable tourist bus ride from Kathmandu (Sorakhutte) at 7:00 AM. The road follows rivers, green hills, waterfalls, and small villages, making the journey itself part of the experience.
Arrive in Pokhara and transfer to a family-friendly hotel near Lakeside. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk along Phewa Lake or relax at a café.

Drive: 1 hour | Trek: ~3.5 hours
A short drive takes you to Birethanti, a small riverside village and trekking checkpoint. From here, the trail gently follows the Modi Khola river, passing waterfalls, suspension bridges, and small villages.
The climb to Ulleri is steady but rewarding, with stone steps through forests and farm villages. Ulleri is a peaceful Magar village with great mountain views.

Trek Duration: 6–7 hours
Today is a gradual uphill trek through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The trail passes Banthanti and Nangethanti, where families often stop for tea breaks.
Ghorepani is a scenic mountain village surrounded by forests and offers incredible sunset views.

Trek: 5–6 hours total
Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m). The short uphill walk is worth it for one of Nepal’s most famous sunrise views over Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre.
After breakfast, continue trekking through peaceful forest trails to Tadapani, a quiet village surrounded by rhododendron forest.

The trail goes downhill through lush forest and small streams before crossing the Kimrong Khola. A gentle uphill climb brings you to Chhomrong, a beautiful Gurung village.
Chhomrong is a highlight for families due to its comfort, mountain views, and friendly teahouses.

Trek Duration: ~5 hours
Descend stone steps to the river and then climb through bamboo and rhododendron forest. This peaceful forest section is often exciting for children due to bird sounds and occasional wildlife sightings.
Dovan is a quiet forest settlement inside the Annapurna Conservation Area.

Trek Duration: 4–5 hours
The trail gradually becomes more dramatic as you enter the Annapurna Sanctuary. You pass Deurali and open alpine landscapes before reaching Machapuchare Base Camp.
From here, you are surrounded by towering mountains including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli.

Trek: 4–5 hours total
A short and exciting hike takes you into the heart of the Himalayas at Annapurna Base Camp. This natural mountain amphitheater is surrounded by giant peaks on all sides.
After spending time at ABC, descend carefully back to Deurali for a safer overnight stay at a lower altitude.

A long descent through forests, rivers, and villages brings you back to Chhomrong. The changing landscape from alpine to green forest is very scenic and enjoyable.

A scenic trail leads through Kimrong Khola valley to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in Nepal.
Ghandruk is very family-friendly with museums, stone houses, and close-up views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Trek: ~6–7 hours | Drive: 2 hours
A gentle downhill walk takes you through villages, rivers, and terraced fields to Nayapul. From there, drive back to Pokhara and relax at Lakeside.
Evening is free for shopping, boating, or rest.

Return to Kathmandu by tourist bus, enjoying the final scenic views of rivers, hills, and rural life.
